Hiking in the heart of the Jura massif
In a natural environment formed of cliffs and forests, there are plenty of walking paths to follow. Choose your route according to the desired level of difficulty and the landscapes you would like to see. The cliffs of Surchauffant are a magnificent vantage point to admire Lake Vouglans in all its splendour. On either side of the Pont de la Pyle (a bridge spanning Lake Vouglans), you will come across caves, castle ruins and panoramic viewpoints along your walk. You can also discover the “7 contes en balades” story trail for families and set off in search of the lost mermaid… And there is of course the Via Ferrata of Lake Vouglans for seasoned outdoors enthusiasts.
Water-based activities on Lake Vouglans
Thanks to its three marinas, Port Meix, Port Mercantine and Port Saisse, Lake Vouglans offers a multitude of water-based activities in the Jura. To see all of the lake, climb aboard the ‘Louisiane’ for a lively guided cruise of the lake. Those looking for sports or thrills can choose from canoeing, kayaking, paddle-boarding, fishing, boat rentals, water skiing, jet skiing and more.
